Navigating the New EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR): What It Means for Simon's Collectibles and Our Customers
Hello, fellow collectors and enthusiasts!
As many of you may know, the world of collectibles is not just about acquiring unique and cherished items; it's also about ensuring that these treasures are safe and compliant with international standards. Recently, a significant change has come into effect that impacts how we do business with our valued customers in the European Union (EU). We're talking about the new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR).
Understanding the EU GPSR
The EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is a comprehensive set of rules established by the European Union to ensure that all products sold within its borders meet stringent safety standards. This regulation is designed to protect consumers by ensuring that products are safe for use and comply with specific safety requirements. It applies to a wide range of products and outlines the responsibilities of manufacturers, importers, and distributors in maintaining these standards.
Why the GPSR Matters
For businesses like Simon's Collectibles, compliance with the GPSR is crucial. It ensures that the products we offer are not only unique and exciting but also safe for our customers. The regulation requires us to conduct thorough safety assessments, maintain detailed documentation, and adhere to strict compliance procedures. This commitment to safety is something we take very seriously, as it aligns with our dedication to providing you with the best possible experience.
Temporary Suspension of EU Shipping
In light of the new GPSR, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend shipping to EU countries. This decision was not made lightly, but the sudden introduction of the regulation and its unclear guidelines have necessitated a pause as we work to adjust our logistics and ensure full compliance.
What This Means for Our EU Customers
While we navigate these changes, we want to assure our EU customers that all items currently available in our shop, including pre-orders, remain available for purchase. However, any new items listed after 13th December will not be available for shipping to the EU until further notice. We are committed to finding a solution that allows us to resume shipping to the EU as soon as possible.

We understand that this situation may be frustrating, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience it may cause. We are dedicated to keeping you informed every step of the way.
